Welcome

Boston Somatic Therapy offers a safe environment for you to heal, grow, and find balance through the mind-body connection and trauma-sensitive mental health support.

Does this sound like you?

You take care of everyone else but never make space for yourself… because you’re totally fine.

You push others away and don’t even have the energy to respond to your texts.

You always seem to be waiting for the other shoe to drop, even when things are going well.

You recognize you have been through a lot and haven’t really been taking the best care of yourself.

You want more than traditional talk therapy. Maybe it doesn’t seem like your thing or it no longer feels useful.

Somatic therapy can help you rebuild your mind-body connection to promote emotional and physical healing. It integrates traditional talk therapy with physical techniques such as body awareness, breathing exercises, movement, and touch. It allows space for your body to move through and heal from stressful life events, whether you are new to therapy or feel “all talked out.” Your body has the inherent wisdom to heal, and I am there to support and guide you through it.

I’m glad you’re here.

I'm Jessica, a licensed clinical social worker, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in training (to be completed April 2025!), EMDR therapist and Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator.

I work with adults and teens, specializing in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, and relationship issues as well as a general sense of feeling "stuck" in life. My work is rooted in resiliency and facilitates a process to support you in regaining your power to allow your body and mind to heal. I also provide a collaborative healing space for those who feel the weight of the world through ongoing events. I take an anti-oppressive, intersectional, integrative, and human-centered approach and acknowledge current, past and generational factors affecting your life. Sessions offer a space to reprocess traumatic experiences, express emotions, talk through difficult situations, learn skills, and foster a sense of safety in your body to facilitate healing.

Services & Specialties

  • Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented modality that aims to heal symptoms of stress and trauma that accumulate in our bodies. It's a therapeutic model created by Dr. Peter A. Levine that helps us release patterns of fight, flight or freeze and become more resilient.

  • EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of therapy designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. EMDR works by helping people reprocess traumatic memories through a combination of eye movements and other bilateral sensory input.

  • Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga

Trauma Sensitive Trauma Center Yoga (TCTSY) is based on central components of the hatha style of yoga, where participants engage in a series of physical forms and movements. Elements of standard hatha yoga are modified to maximize experiences of empowerment and to cultivate a more positive relationship to your body. TCTSY can be incorporated with individual therapy or done on its own.

  • Individual Talk Therapy

Individual therapy sessions are designed to address your treatment goals and provide symptom relief. Therapy sessions are typically a blend traditional talk therapy with skill building, psychoeducation and somatic work. Sessions can include EMDR, Somatic Experiencing and yoga.

  • Therapy Intensives

Intensives are longer-format sessions designed to be effective and efficient to support your treatment goals. They can be focused on EMDR or Somatic Experiencing. Sessions will include real-time practice and integration. Intensives are done as 90-minute or three hour sessions and can be 1-5x per week depending on treatment goals, modality and timeline.

  • Couples Therapy

Couples therapy supports dyads (partners, friends, or family members) to heal through the lens of the mind-body connection. Together, you will have the opportunity to create shared goals and allow for a safe space to process through conflict through emotions, sensations and communication. This work can be done to facilitate reconnection following a specific event or as longer-term work.
